1). Educational Accomplishments:
While incarcerated, Jeff displayed an unparalleled commitment to educating himself and those around him. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a 4.0 Grade Point Average; he was listed as an exceptional candidate on the Dean's List.
He earned a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) with a 4.0 Grade Point Average, once again making the Dean's List as an exceptional graduate.
Finally, Jeff earned his Doctorate in Business Administration, concentrating on Strategic Business Policy, Strategic Marketing Management, Organizational Psychology, International Business, Corporate Finance and Planning and Control, Business Law and the Cultural Dimensions of Management. The University's President issues Jeff's Doctorate with a commendation for Academic Excellence.
Jeff recently took college courses at Palo Verde Junior College regarding Alcohol and Drug Addiction and Case Management. Jeff received a 4.0 GPA on these programs.

Jeff is currently working as the X-Ray Tech at the CCI Level II Clinic. He has received excellent performance reviews from his immediate supervisor. While it is true that Jeff's true goals revolved around business, he continues to take additional programs to continue his education and not remain stagnant like most inmates. "I like to live my life as an example to others that change is possible, showing just how important it is to receive a good education."

Currently, Jeff works diligently to help others from returning to prison. Through his active community work, Jeff has provided the encouragement and motivation to others to turn their lives around. Both saving men and women from destroying their lives, and the lives of countless others. Through sponsoring many people throughout the Country and World, Jeff has touched the lives of many, many people. This work, so very uncommon under any circumstance, has served as an indicator to the value Jeff will bring society upon release.
4). Meritorious Awards:
On November 13, 1994, Jeff received a Meritorious Award for saving the life of another inmate. Jeff's quick thinking and previous medical training allowed him to come to the aid of a man who was choking in one of the cellblocks. He performed the Heimlich-Maneuver on inmate Long, dislodging a large chunk of meat, saving his life.
On December 23, 1998, Jeff was awarded a Meritorious Chrono for saving another inmate from serious injury. During a meeting of Narcotics Anonymous, Jeff unselfishly came to the aid of another inmate who was about to be burned severely by a cauldron of boiling coffee. Before the cauldron could land on the other inmate, Jeff caught it, suffering painful burns on his arms and legs.
5). Laudatory Chronos:
Jeff has received an enormous number of laudatory (Good Guy) chronos from Correctional Staff and others employed by the California Department of Corrections indicating their support for his parole and recognizing him for his excellent attitude and work while incarcerated.
6). Disciplinary History While Incarcerated:
During the course of Jeff's incarceration, he has received three administrative infractions and two documentary infractions. These were related to minor property infractions and for not abiding by a medical directive not to play sports. Jeff has never received a serious disciplinary while incarcerated nor has he ever been in trouble for drugs or alcohol, though they are very accessible and rampant in a prison environment.
7). Contributions To Society:
Jeff's contributions based on his current status are an outstanding measure of his rehabilitation and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Jeff has authored many articles which have been published throughout the country on the dangers of drinking and driving. His "Message To The Newcomer" is used by organizations throughout the country to train others and reduce the likelihood that someone will die as the result of drinking and driving. His cause is championed by self-help groups across the nation and it is without doubt that lives have been saved. Jeff has received thousands of letters from people who have vowed to never drink and drive again.
In addition, the State of California's own Alcohol Beverage Control Board utilizes Jeff's writings in their LEAD Training Program.
Many Group Facilities, such as The Betty Ford Center and Born Free, use Jeff's experience and writings to help others. Many organizations have their in-patients write to Jeff to receive one-on-one help directly from Jeff to overcome their addictions. All of this work has been funded directly by Jeff and his family.
Jeff works diligently with those inmates who are getting ready to be paroled so they have valid and workable solutions to living a life free of crime. He also spends many hours each month teaching men how to read and do basic math. The prison also uses Jeff's education by teachers asking him to teach their business modules in their vocational training programs.
Currently, Jeff sponsors approximately six people throughout the country in their Alcoholics Anonymous programs.
He participated in the Easter Baskets for Kids Program at CVSP, and won the "Walk-A-Thon" for most money donated to Children Crime Victims.
Jeff is impacting many at-risk teens in the S.E.E.K. Program at California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi. Through direct, one on one, talks and presentations, Jeff shares his hope, experience and strength with these deserving kids. Through his hard work, care and concern, many young lives are being positively affected.
Jeff was also instrumental in establishing the veteran's group on Facility C at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison. Through Jeff's leadership, thousands of dollars were raised to fund scholarships for high school students, help veteran's associations and retirement and convalescent homes. Funds were also raised and forwarded to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
